Support Groups

We run an active support group of people living with HIV/AIDS which meets regually. Through the assistance of our group facilitator and counsellors BOCAIP-Tshepong aims to promote self-supportive positive living in group members.

In a peer setting, members give and recieve psyco-social support, share the burden of any problems they encounter and learn how to live positivly with HIV. The group stops people from feeling isolated in the community, and provides a supportive network of friends when things get difficult. Group members also learn surivial skills and act against stigma and discrimination.

Recently the group has been donated a plot of land for a vegitable garden, and has planted seedlings to provide fresh food for group members, and eventually for sale.

Our support group provides transportation to bring people from different villages together to share experiences and ideas, and also encourages income-generating activities inluding sewing everything from cushions to mobile phone holders for sale to the general public, raising money and awareness at the same time.
